OSP Car Totaled By Pine Tree

By KTVZ.com news sources

An unoccupied Oregon State Police patrol car received substantial damage Sunday when high winds caused a 40-foot tree to fall onto it in the Gilchrist area, troopers said.

The OSP Ford Crown Victoria patrol car was parked at the Gilchrist-area residence of an off-duty trooper when a lodgepole pine tree fell onto its roof. Preliminary estimate indicates the patrol car was totaled as a result of the damage.

Lt. Steve Nork, OSP-Klamath Falls, estimated the tree was approximately 40 feet tall and about 12 inches in diameter at its base.
