One person died Saturday evening after a two-vehicle head-on crash on Rogue River Highway (Highway 99) about four miles north of Rogue River.
On April 4, 2009 at approximately 6:01 p.m., a 2006 Kia Sportage driven by IVAN R. BOWMAN, age 69, from Grants Pass, was northbound on Rogue River Highway near mile post 6 when it veered across the centerline and collided head-on with a 1999 Suzuki motorcycle operated by KYLE W. WILLIAMS, age 24, from Rogue River, head-on.
BOWMAN did not receive any injuries that required treatment away from the scene.
WILLIAMS was wearing a safety helmet and was transported by Rogue River Ambulance to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. He reportedly died of injuries sustained in the crash after arriving at the hospital.
Oregon State Police troopers from the Central Point Area Command office and Grants Pass worksite are completing their investigation.
OSP troopers were assisted at the scene by ODOT, Jackson County District Attorney's Office, Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office and the Rogue River Fire District.
